The Threshing Barn is a Grade 2 listed farm building dating from the 16th century. Through the sensitive work of owners Janine and Roy Naismith, and their architect the Haddow Partnership, it has been transformed it into a striking and award-winning contemporary home.

The 5-story apartment building is situated on the edge of the medieval old town of Tallinn. It is not dominant from the street level, nor does it seem too high in the surrounding context. The dynamic mass of the building is situated in the northern and western side of the plot. In connection with some old historically valuable buildings,it creates an environment of small interconnected units, characteristic to the architectural whole of the old town. This simple wooden box farm in Almere was designed by 70F Architecture, here is thier statement:
Most city parts of Almere, a city with almost 190.000 inhabitants, have a petting farm. In the ‘den Uyl’ park there used to be one, but it burned down in the early 80′s, leaving only its concrete foundation. Early 2005 we were commissioned by the municipality of Almere to design a new petting farm on the exact location and the remaining foundation. The building was finally built using almost only sponsored money, and finished late 2008.
Bercy Chen Studio: Our concept revolved around the notions of recycling a building, reusing natural and manmade resources and reclaiming the ancient ideal that buildings can and should be sacred places, especially the home.
The project began as a modest remodel, but turned into a full master-planning for the site; including complete interior and exterior recycle, an addition to an existing 1970’s home, as well as re-organization of the garden. As the original house was poorly sited, a large motivation of the design was to reconnect the house with its site by utilizing the steep topography to capture the expansive views.

Personal responsibility in the sustainable use of global resources continues to play an increasingly important role in the life of the average consumer. In this context, the offices of J. MAYER H. Architects and Art+Com Berlin were commissioned to develope a permanent exhibition on the topic sustainability for the Autostadt in Wolfsburg, Germany. The exhibition LEVEL GREEN was opened on the 4th of June 2009 and encompasses approximately 1000 m², the exhibition renders this highly complex topic tangible, providing for an aesthetic access to information. In so doing, it seeks to unfold the various aspects of the topic while creating an information environment that addresses the visitor on different sensual levels.
Designed by ARK-house architects, The plot for the projected Helsinki Seafarers´ Centre is situated by the main entrance to the Vuosaari harbour, on the northern corner of the area. In practice the building location is the only point in the whole harbour area that contains any natural forms and elements. As the only public building in the area, its role is to serve as a place of respite; a small multipurpose building for the seamen that arrive at the harbour form afar. Read the rest of this entry »

Beach Pavilion (150 m2) is part of a private residential beachfront compound in Uruguay. Located immediately adjacent to the ocean, its primarily function is to provide shade and amenities (a kitchenette, a bathroom and showers) for a family and guests spending the day on the beach.
