Cottesloe House designed by Paul Burnham Architect from Australia. Here’s architect statement;

A new house on a narrow, elevated north facing site for a structural engineer / builder client. The design has achieved north facing aspects to all internal and external living areas. Originally, the property with 450 m² of covered area was a house that has been adapted to be an administration office.The area that will be most affected by the project is concentrated, apart from the façade, the top floor of the building, where the private area of the house used to be. Designed by ARK-house architects, The plot for the projected Helsinki Seafarers´ Centre is situated by the main entrance to the Vuosaari harbour, on the northern corner of the area. In practice the building location is the only point in the whole harbour area that contains any natural forms and elements. Emerging from behind its high boundary wall, the distorted roof form of Vader House interrupts the symmetrical roof line typical of Fitzroy, and breathes new life into this Victorian Terrace.The extension is a framed steel skeleton which envelopes the unusually high masonry boundary wall built prior to height restrictions, reclaiming it into the interior. The roof then responds to site setbacks which result in a distorted and subverted answer to regulations. Architectural Design | Sou Fujimoto Architects

A home for two plus a dog. The house itself is comprised of three shells of progressive size nested inside one another. The outermost shell covers the entire premises, creating a covered, semi-indoor garden. Second shell encloses a limited space inside the covered outdoor space. Third shell creates a smaller interior space. Residents build their life inside this gradation of domain.
