
NURTURING ACTIVE GLOBAL CITIZENS
Perkins Eastman’s latest project on the Concordia International School Shanghai (CISS) campus is a new 12,720 sm (129,200 sf) high school. It is the newest addition to the school’s multi-building education campus. Completed through a joint effort of the firm’s New York and Shanghai offices, this is the fourth phase of a series of planning and design projects completed for the school. The 10-acre campus also includes an elementary school and performing arts center, also designed by Perkins Eastman. As the culmination of a 10-year, multi-phased expansion of the world-class education campus, the high school is a fitting architectural expression of the evolution of design, learning, and sustainability. To be completed 2010, Vanke Center is a sustainable horizontal skyscraper from Steven Holl Architects.
Hovering over a tropical garden, this ‘horizontal skyscraper’ -as long as the Empire State Building is tall- unites into one vision the headquarters for Vanke Co. ltd, office spaces, apartments, and a hotel. A conference center, spa and parking are located under the large green, public landscape.

WEBER THOMPSON awarded AIA/COTE Top Ten Green Project
The Terry Thomas was designed by to provide a healthy and creative work environment that would illustrate the possibilities of sustainable design and was chosen as an AIA Committee on the Environment Top Ten Green Project for 2009. The project was driven by a future tenant who needed a new office space to accommodate a rapidly expanding architectural practice. Our friend OFIS has updated us small hut design called 6X11 Alpine. They demonstrate us a sustainable modification idea on previous design which has to cope with a very strict building regulations. Here is from architect:
The hut is situated in a small Alpine village, part of Triglav national park with very strict rules of construction and architectural design. The client bought the site together with existing construction permit for the generic project. Demand was not to change construction permit but change the elements of the house to suit his family, sustainable factor and open the windows toward the views.
