Designed by Piuarch, The new headquarters of D&G in Milan house the showrooms for the fashion collections, the offices, a restaurant and a number of spaces for events, with a total surface of 5.000 square meters. The project reflects a rigorous architectural scheme, using natural materials such as white namibic stone, glass and crude steel sheets. Two bodies, of the 1920’s and the 1960’s respectively, face three streets, covering 5 floors and 2 basements. The first floor overlooks a garden of white cobblestone. Read the rest of this entry »

Within a charged global-political world and the secular context of the University of Toronto, the design challenge of the Multi faith Centre was to create a uniquely versatile venue for the practice and discussion of religion and spirituality in which students and leaders of all faiths feel equally welcome and equally valued. The space was crafted within the constraints of an existing building, with selective alterations to existing interior spaces to meet both programming and budget needs.

Panamá house splendid designed by Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan & Samanta Cafardo(co-author). Apart from for living, the house has been designed to house and exhibit the art collection of their owner.
The site of Panamá house is located in one of the garden neighborhoods, just some blocks from Paulista, the financial center of the city of São Paulo. The client has an important art collection, above all, modern Brazilian art, and the house was designed to house this collection. “Inspiration for structure has been found in the small traditional stone hut – kažun, a small multifunctional building used as a shelter for shepherds that provide a cool environment in hot weather and insulating against the cold in the winter.”
Sports/City Hall Bale is the winner both invited design competition and the WAF World Architecture Festival, Barcelona 2008 on “Sport” category. I guess what made this project success are to designing an architecture that respect to the site, cultural and context. Read the rest of this entry »
