The NBBJ-designed Akerselva Atrium is a new 17,600 SM mixed-use project in the Akerselva neighborhood in downtown Oslo—a mere five-minute walk to the city’s opera, central train station and harbor. The design of the award-winning Sail @ Marina Bay derives inspiration from Singapore’s port environment—the air, wind and water—and its diverse international population. Viewed from across the bay, the 63- and 70-story glass-clad towers rise from a sculpted base to resemble wind-blown sails. At 245 meters tall, the Sail @ Marina Bay prominently carves out the leading edge of Singapore’s emerging new skyline.

a vision of temporary living
“natural high-tech“ is the concept of this new modular, sustainable & transportable low-energy house. Designed by Werner Aisslinger and developed with a South Tyrolian team, the FINCUBE was created 1200m above sea level near Bozen in Northern Italy, with a brilliant view of the famous Dolomite mountains. The hideaway-innature nomadic housing concept is since recently exhibited as a prototype in Ritten, above Bozen.

Designed by Piuarch, The new headquarters of D&G in Milan house the showrooms for the fashion collections, the offices, a restaurant and a number of spaces for events, with a total surface of 5.000 square meters. The project reflects a rigorous architectural scheme, using natural materials such as white namibic stone, glass and crude steel sheets. Two bodies, of the 1920’s and the 1960’s respectively, face three streets, covering 5 floors and 2 basements. The first floor overlooks a garden of white cobblestone. Read the rest of this entry »

The new Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House in Dallas, one of the new performance art venues of AT&T’s Performing Art center (ATTPAC). Estimated 45,000 people across Dallas have joined the opening on 19th October. The Opera house auditorium designed with horseshoe plan seating 2,200 audiences by trying to take theatre to the audience. What I like is the public sunshade area that is connected the theatre to other buildings, squares and activities featured in the ATTPAC.
