The NBBJ-designed Akerselva Atrium is a new 17,600 SM mixed-use project in the Akerselva neighborhood in downtown Oslo—a mere five-minute walk to the city’s opera, central train station and harbor. NURTURING ACTIVE GLOBAL CITIZENS
Perkins Eastman’s latest project on the Concordia International School Shanghai (CISS) campus is a new 12,720 sm (129,200 sf) high school. It is the newest addition to the school’s multi-building education campus. Completed through a joint effort of the firm’s New York and Shanghai offices, this is the fourth phase of a series of planning and design projects completed for the school. The 10-acre campus also includes an elementary school and performing arts center, also designed by Perkins Eastman. As the culmination of a 10-year, multi-phased expansion of the world-class education campus, the high school is a fitting architectural expression of the evolution of design, learning, and sustainability. Turnkey design competition for a new $50 Million research and experiment facility for the Pangyo Housing Development District that is part of a master plan designed to attract R&D centers of multinational businesses equipped with advanced technologies. The project intent is to promote the HI TECH desires of the region by attracting global companies specialized in high tech industries information technology (IT), Biotechnology (BT), and Green Technique (GT). Step Up on 5th, designed by Pugh + Scarpa, is a bright new spot in downtown Santa Monica. The new building provides a home, support services and rehabilitation for the homeless and mentally disabled population. The new structure provides 46 studio apartments of permanent affordable housing. The project also includes ground level commercial/retail space and subterranean parking.
