CircleBath is Foster + Partners’ first hospital and represents a radical departure from orthodox approaches to hospital planning. The three-storey building is set into the hills on the edge of protected green belt nine kilometres south east of Bath and its compact arrangement provides a ‘corridor-less’ environment, encouraging a sense of community and well-being. Business Centre Miramare is a winning competition project by 3LHD. The competition program is placed on a crossing of two streets, Miramarska and Bednjanska. It is a point of colliding two urban city concepts: north part with classical city blocks of the Zagreb’s lower city enclosed by the railway and the south part primarily along the Vukovarska Street, outlined with modernistic dominant character of mostly public and social buildings. The Eli & Edythe Broad Stage Theater The new state-of-the-art 540 seat theater for the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center provides a unique venue on the Westside of Los Angeles for opera, music, dance, lectures, film screenings, and an assorted mix of academic and community events. A central aim of the 30,000 sf theater is to provide an intimate experience within an architecturally grand setting. The small seating capacity allows the most distant audience member to make eye contact with the actor within a space capable of supporting the most demanding and ambitious productions of national and international significance.
