Architecture from 3LHD has just been realized. It is Zamet Centre housing mixed use of function with the ribbon design connecting to site topography. Here is from 3LHD;

Business Centre Miramare is a winning competition project by 3LHD. The competition program is placed on a crossing of two streets, Miramarska and Bednjanska. It is a point of colliding two urban city concepts: north part with classical city blocks of the Zagreb’s lower city enclosed by the railway and the south part primarily along the Vukovarska Street, outlined with modernistic dominant character of mostly public and social buildings. “Inspiration for structure has been found in the small traditional stone hut – kažun, a small multifunctional building used as a shelter for shepherds that provide a cool environment in hot weather and insulating against the cold in the winter.”
Sports/City Hall Bale is the winner both invited design competition and the WAF World Architecture Festival, Barcelona 2008 on “Sport” category. I guess what made this project success are to designing an architecture that respect to the site, cultural and context. Read the rest of this entry »
